''In the waning days of fossil fuel abundance, humanity's voracious appetite for energy reached its zenith, leaving behind a world scoured of its natural resources. Desperation drove us to the heavens, and the sun became our final hope. The corporations, with their insatiable hunger for profit, constructed colossal solar panels that loomed ominously over the cities, casting their shadows primarily over the impoverished and forgotten districts. Beneath these permanent shades, darkness became a way of life. Crime flourished in the murky alleyways, diseases spread unchecked, and a pall of depression settled over the populace.
And just beside this somber existence, the elites basked in perpetual sunlight, revelling in the ever-changing panorama of the sky. They monopolized the lion's share of the solar energy, leaving the masses to suffer in obscurity.
But the resentment simmering in the slums soon boiled over into rebellion. The downtrodden masses, having endured enough injustice, rose in defiance. Their pleas for fairness ignored by the authorities, they embarked on a perilous path. Patrolling cars that once served as sentinels for the solar collectors were hijacked and repurposed for their cause. Sabotage missions became commonplace, with stolen power cores acting as the lifeblood of their resistance.
In response, the city unleashed its police force, a cadre of enforcers trained for aerial combat and clad in advanced suits bristling with weaponry. As the two sides clashed in the skies, the battle for justice raged on, an unending struggle for equality and light in a world plunged into darkness.''

Reworked a very old artwork I had done for Atomhawk Solarpunk art contest back in 2018 or 2019.
